Dye Day

June 18, 2016  Medina Guild Dye Day

It was a great day at Hollie Krenz’s farm, we dyed 10 skeins in 6 pots of natural dye. The Cochineal we used twice an initial pot and then an exhaust. We also used the indigo twice.  One skein was dyed once or twice depending on the shade the person wanted then, we let members over dye any skein they wanted too.  The plan was to just do the onion skin ones but some of us got creative and dyed some of the other colours.

A couple of us tossed in some silk scarves, A few others decide to dye with the Spectra Tissue Paper.  Even Hollie’s daughter joined in the fun.
